Supernatural

By Mark Wilson, About.com

Supernatural Title
What It's About: After the disappearance of their father, who began hunting evil supernatural creatures after a demon killed his wife, two brothers take up his mission.
Origins: Supernatural was created by Eric Kripke (Boogeyman).
Popular Characters: Since Supernatural follows the Fugitive format, the only constants from week to week are the brothers themselves (though that will change in season 3). Fans of the show tend to gravitate toward one or the other: Dean is harder-edged, more gung ho, and tends to cut through to what needs to be done; Sam is curious, questioning, and more immediately accessible (not to mention being taller and prettier). Not to be forgotten is the other regular presence in the show -- Dean's well-used but beloved 1967 black Chevrolet Impala (called by fans the Metallicar, thanks to Dean's fondness for what Sam once called "mullet rock").
Flavor: The complex dynamic between the two brothers, who are dealing with having been raised to be demon-hunters, is immensely important to making the show work, and both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki turn in rock-solid performances that progressively deepen their relationship and sense of mission. The attitude toward their adversaries also sets the show a cut above other demon-hunting shows: Supernatural is interested in the nature of evil and people's perceptions of it. This adds heft to the dark side of the show and therefore makes the brewing war between good and evil more substantial.
Network: Supernatural is shown on The CW network. For showtimes, see When It’s On.
